Week 15 – Advocate for yourself

Career Development Framework

Do you feel confident speaking up for yourself? Self-advocacy is a skill, just like communication or problem solving, and being able to advocate for yourself is incredibly important if you want to be the one in charge of your career.

In this unit, we’ve pulled together some resources which help young people feel more confident speaking up for themselves, and identify why it’s important to self-advocate. We’ve provided some questions to stimulate reflection and thinking, and explained some simple concepts with the aim of expanding their thinking.
