Possible Pathways
To become an Indigenous Health Worker, individuals typically need to complete a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care or a similar qualification. This training covers topics such as cultural safety, communication, health promotion, and chronic disease management. Additionally, many Indigenous Health Workers receive on-the-job training and ongoing professional development to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide culturally appropriate care to their communities.
